TheBaseStationhastheabilitytoprogramtranspondersinductivelyandact

asastand-alonedecoder.Wheninstand-alonemode,theBaseStationcan

learntranspondersanddoinductiveIdentifyFriendorFoe(IFF)validation.

TheBatterylessTranspondersarepoweredthroughthemagneticfield

providedbytheBaseStation.

TheTransponder/TransmittercombinestheconvenienceofanRFtransmitter

withthesecurityofatransponder.Typically,theRFtransmitterwillbeusedas

aconvenienceitem:i.e.,unlockingthecardoorastheownerapproachesthe

vehicle.Onceinthecar,acoilaroundtheignitionelectronicallyvalidatesthe

keyanddisarmstheimmobilizer.Thisiscompletelytransparenttothe

operator.Evenifthebatteryinthekeygoesflat,thetransponderwillstillbe
