In this paper, the experimental study on the UV laser interaction with LY12 aluminum/optical glass K9 by using a 10 J, 40 ns XeCl excimer laser is described. The laser induced impulse coupling to materials are obtained and the properties of laser produced plasma (LPP) are analyzed.
