An analysis of splice loss between photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) and conventional single-mode fibers (SMFs) is presented at bending and straight conditions, by using scalar effective index method (SEIM), vectorial effective index method (VEIM), and finite-difference frequency domain (FDFD) methods.
